SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the outreach services provided to all designated sites. This position will work closely with community, youth, elders, and volunteers, requiring extensive travel and providing services within the Copper Basin and Cantwell. This position will be responsible for assisting in the coordination and facilitation of regular and special event outreach activities throughout the community. The Outreach Coordinator will also assist the team in conducting a comprehensive, systemic assessment and analysis of all available data and information concerning identified needs of the community. This will include gathering available data and information from CRNA’s various departments, the Copper Basin, the Village of Cantwell, public schools, other tribal entities, tribal leaders, and community stakeholders. This position will assist in the development of services that bridge all age ranges within the community in an effort to strengthen the community as a whole.

JOB DUTIES

  • Responsible for coordinating and implementing activities with community elders and coordination with youth programs as necessary.
  • Assist in the gathering of the required data as it relates to the needs of the community.
  • Assist in the organization and the facilitation of scheduled committee meetings.
  • Assist in the implementation of the outreach services within the identified communities.
  • Developing a strong working relationship with law enforcement, education, school, and service systems.
  • Coordinate with the various CRNA departments to connect, mentor, and support those who are at risk.
  • Maintain a daily log of activities and services provided.
  • Collaboratively with other CRNA departments, provide information and outreach to all clients in service areas.
  • Attend staff meetings and program related workshops and training as needed.
  • Transport participants to scheduled events.
  • Demonstrate and set an example in commitment to work ethic, integrity, and positive influence in the community.
  • May work some weekends and after business hours on a flexible, but punctual, schedule.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong understanding and sensitivity to Alaska Native culture and lifestyle, with demonstrated experience working effectively with Alaska Native population.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong written, analytical, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize and facilitate community events.
  • Ability to keep accurate records and produce timely and accurate written reports.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as required for HIPAA, & other regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to learn and apply program/agency operating policies and procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, including outside contacts.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with teams.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Alaska Driver License, with satisfactory driving history to qualify for company insurance.
  • CPR/First Aid, or ability to obtain within 90 days.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • One (1) year of experience in Customer Service related position.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The work is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items weighing less than 50 lbs. The majority of work is performed in a community setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities. CRNA is a smoke free and tobacco free campus. Requires local travel between compact services of CRNA which may involve exposure to extreme weather conditions. Works in an environment where protection of client confidentiality is essential. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided when and where needed.

SPECIFICATIONS

Supervision Received:

Work will be monitored through meetings, reports, and regular communication with the immediate supervisor. General guidelines for operations are based on program requirements, conditions of grant award(s), and the general policies and procedures of CRNA.

Supervision Exercised:

Position will exercise supervision of assigned staff and complete required documentation, including performance evaluations, training, and general oversight through direct reports.

Contacts:

Contacts include and not limited to volunteers, organizational staff, clients, and outside agencies.

CONDITIONS OF HIRE

  • CRNA is a no tolerance workplace. All employees must pass an initial and random drug and alcohol screening to be eligible for and maintain employment.
  • CRNA has several positions that require a criminal background check for the safety of our clients. All employment offers in the “covered” classification are conditional until CRNA has received a Federal criminal background check verifying eligibility to work in these programs.
  • First Aid/CPR certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire for required positions.
  • As applicable by position and company policy, must meet standards for fitness for duty, immunizations, credentialing and privileging.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
