Job Summary

As the friendly face and brand ambassador of Watson’s Greenhouse and Nursery, the Outdoor sales position supports customers with Annuals, Perennials, trees & shrubs. We are proud of the high quality, high service shopping experience we offer our customers, and this role is key to conveying our passion for living – garden, home, and life – to everyone who visits. This role reports to the Outdoor lead.

Position Responsibilities

• Engage customers promptly, personally, and with the goal of opening the conversation and ensuring they feel welcome.
• Responsible for ensuring the health of Annuals, Perennials, trees & shrubs, including proper watering and care.
• Merchandise and maintain outdoor inventory, including Annuals, Perennials, trees and shrubs and other outdoor items.
• Provide the highest level of customer service to all customers.
• Understand who our guests are, what brought them to Watson’s, their intent and timeline to purchase, creating a connection, and personalized shopping experience.
• Help the store meet sales goals.
• Value a proactive team-player outlook, jumping in to help your co-workers, leaving things better than how you found them.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Must be able to lift or move up to 50lbs, and push/pull racks on wheels of 100lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Able to work collaboratively as part of a team, willing to fill in where needed.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to stand for an 8-hour shift.
• Ability to stand, climb, squat, bend, twist, and stand for extended periods of time.
• Customer service experience required.
• Positive, enthusiastic, and passionate.
• Strong sense of team mentality and reliability.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Gardening experience and/or plant knowledge.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 - $18.50 per hour
