Baldwin Park Eye Care is a recently established boutique private practice in an upscale Orlando neighborhood. Patients are the heart of our practice. We pride ourselves in providing comprehensive and personalized vision care, where patients feel like family.

Our optician will be responsible for the selling, fitting, and dispensing glasses and will also be expected to answer phones, patient scheduling, insurance verification, and other tasks that arise on a day-to-day basis while providing a great interpersonal experience for our patients. We are looking for a candidate that has experience in the field, exceptional communication skills, is flexible as the office grows, has the ability to multitask, and most of all the passion to be instrumental in helping to lay the foundation for our growing company.

Candidate requirements:

• Passion for building patient relationships

• Upbeat, pleasant attitude

• Strong background in sales

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• At least 3 years of experience in the optical field

• State optical license is recommended

• Familiarity working with various insurance plans

• Great phone etiquette and communication skills

Job Responsibilities:

• Ability to sell premium quality glasses and contact lenses to suit patient taste and lifestyle. Emphasis on educating patients on the best lens selection,

• Skilled in fitting, adjustment, and dispensing glasses

• Accurately explain benefits to patients with vision insurance

• Placing lab orders for eyewear and filing claims with contracted insurance labs

• Keeping patients informed on the progress of their eyeglass orders

• Edge lenses with in-house optical equipment

• Cross-trained to help in optical, clinic, and administration when needed

• Answer phones to schedule patients and answer general questions

• Verify insurances and interpret benefits from a variety of medical and vision plans. Collect and bill insurance appropriately

• Have the willingness and flexibility to learn and adapt to a variety of situations

• Must have the desire and investment in the practice to help with promotion and growth
