Arizona Youth Partnership is looking for part-time energetic, compassionate shelter staff members who wants to make a difference in the lives of runaway and homeless youth ages 12-17 in Mohave County, AZ. The program is built on the principles of positive youth development, emphasizing the strengths of each individual. Our shelters provides a safe environment for youth to regroup and chart a new course in life. Are you ready to make a positive difference in their lives? Become a mentor, a trusted adult, and a positive example for these youth by joining our team. Applications are now being accepted for part-time youth shelter staff positions. These on-call staff would need some flexibility to cover one of the overnight shifts as needed by the shelter:

  • Sunday, 8:00pm through Wednesday, 10:00am
  • Wednesday, 10:00am through Friday, 4:00pm
  • Friday, 4:00pm through Sunday, 8:00pm

This position includes daytime through overnight hours at the shelter.

Some duties of this position include:

  • Provide practical guidance, supervision, and support for up to 5 runaway and homeless youth aged 12-17
  • Promote a team environment and participate in problem-solving and conflict resolution efforts
  • Ensure the participants’ health, safety and welfare (including medication administration as needed)
  • Build and maintain relationships with appropriate boundaries
  • Advocate for participants to ensure they receive appropriate education, employment and recreation activities
  • Encourage participants to be involved in the community and fosters participant self-advocacy
  • Schedule counseling for youth with in-house counselor as needed
  • Promote the development and maintenance of the program
  • Transport youth to appointments, school or other commitments as needed
  • Follows all agency policies, licensing guidelines, contract deliverables and directives from supervisors
  • Cook and prepare meals during the shift

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
  • 6-months experience in working with youth in employment or volunteer capacity is preferred.
  • Experience working with youth in group settings is preferred
  • Creative, flexible, team player with a passion to serve youth
  • 21 years of age or older (required)
  • New hires will be required to pass a drug test
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • AZ Driver’s License
  • Automobile Insurance with bodily injury coverage in the amount of $100,000/$300,000 (required)

After hire, we will assist you in obtaining these items if you don’t currently have them:

  • Arizona Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Physical Exam and TB test with negative results

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.50 per hour
