Summary of Position
  • Coordinate all patient related business functions of the practice, including accounts receivable, collections, refunds, patient financing programs and bank deposits.
  • Supervise dental practice support staff and has oversight for the dental practice management system and employee payroll.
Principal Accountabilities
  • Ensure that all business office activities are performed accurately and efficiently by support staff; conduct audits on account payment postings and aged receivables to ensure that all services are accounted for.
  • Provide back up for reception units and scheduling coordinator.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all insurance plans, and act as liaison between the billing department and the professional staff.
  • Plan and schedule assignments for accounts receivable analysts, receptionists DAI & DAII and scheduling coordinator.
  • Prepare daily bank deposits and balance the daily cash receipts report.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements with patients and introduce them to our financing programs.
  • Maintain daily time and attendance records for all staff.
  • Complete ORACLE payroll processes on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Train staff in the use of the EAGLESOFT dental practice management system.
  • Assist the Business Manager in closing the month-end billing cycles and activity reports.
  • Maintain statistical records related to revenue production, patient flow and cash receipts.
Education, Training, Licenses, Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
Relevant Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • 2 – 3+ years of relevant, professional work experience. (R)
  • Additional experience/specialized training may be considered in lieu of educational requirements. (R)
  • Supervisory/management experience. (P)
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced multi-task environment. (R)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, practice management, third party insurers and professional staff. (R)
  • Must have experience with computerized practice management systems. (R)
  • Medical/dental office experience. (R)
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). (R)
