Office RN (Registered Nurse) Job at Edison Home Health Care
Edison Home Health Care is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our home care agency's Nursing team. The Registered Nurse will work primarily from our Brooklyn office and be an integral part of our Nursing team.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Supports nursing care standards through adherence to existing policies and procedures.
- Communicates with the patient and his or her family and other members of the health care team in carrying out the goals of the care plan.
- Communicates with external vendors
- Conducts Aide Orientation
- Teaches In-Service classes
- Conducts TB Screening Questionnaires & Health Assessments
- Completes patient discharges
- Audits Patient Files
- Communicates with DPS, Director of Clinical Operations, and Human Resources as needed
- Other tasks instructed by DPS or Director of Clinical Operations
Qualifications:
- NYS Licensed and currently registered as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing and holds a Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate Degree.
- 1-2 year experience in the provision of nursing care in an acute care facility. One year satisfactory Nursing experience in Home Care, desired.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before customers/patients or employees of the agency.
- Good Organizational writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
