Position Summary:

Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Clinical Nutrition Manager and Registered Dietitian (RD), the Dietetic Assistant performs tasks that relate to the preparation and delivery of human milk and formulas and transfer of information concerning patient formula orders. Must adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations and standards established by the hospital and regulatory agencies. Performs inventory management, operates feeding preparation equipment, maintains sanitation in the preparation room, performs quality improvement activities, completes temperature records, communicates information through various telecommunication modes, and other related duties as assigned.

Salary Range:
Hourly Rate Minimum $20.46 Midpoint $22.76 Maximum $25.06
Required Qualifications:
Ability to effectively read, write and speak English
Computer literacy
Willingness and availability to work overtime, holidays and weekends as needed or requested
Ability to communicate effectively and concisely.
Detail oriented, strong critical thinking skills and ability to solve problems.
Ability to follow instructions and contribute to improvements in work environment.
Knowledge of gram scale use and basic math for weights and measures.
Ability to comply with Title 22, Department of Public Health (DPH), The Joint Commission, CMS and other regulatory agencies and institutional and operating systems.
Infant Feeding Technician Certification will be required within six (6) months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in infant milk and formula preparation, working with a hospital diet or in medical field.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in Dietetic Technology or Nutrition and Dietetics.
Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered (NDTR) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
