Under limited supervision, provides operational support for a wired and wireless local area network/metropolitan area network (LAN/MAN/WAN/CELLULAR) and Avigilon Camera system. Works independently in providing a wide range of advanced level support services to customers. Assists with maintaining production level servers and workstations to include patches and updates. Participates in the support and maintenance of all components of the network according to established specifications. Troubleshoots problems and provides end-user assistance and training. Determines user needs and recommends designs to meet those needs. May provide assistance in reporting information (data). Work involves access to confidential data and requires proper handling in a secure manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in Information Technology. Two to five years of experience in the information technology field of work preferred in addition to basic skills typically associated with an associate degree.
- Experience may substitute for degree.
- Minimum two (2) years of proven full-time work experience providing software and hardware technical assistance to customers and/or one (1) year of previous experience providing phone support technical assistance in a help desk environment. Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network switches and access points preferred.
- Experience in RF mobile wireless technology, mobile cellular technology, and wireless networking preferred.
- Experience in networking technologies and Microsoft Azure to include M365.
- The City of Rome's network environment is a TCP/IP and Microsoft Windows environment. As such, preferred qualifications for the position include:
Microsoft Mobility certification
Cisco Certified Network Associate
Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA)
Must have thorough familiarity with problem solving and analysis.- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in the state of residency.
- Must already possess or obtain National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) 100 and 700 within three (3) months of employment.
