North Carolina Virtual Public School is the second-largest virtual school in the country. Each year, there are over 55,000 student enrollments across North Carolina that take advantage of NC Virtual to ensure they have access to an unprecedented set of choices. CRITICAL LANGUAGE COACH - REQUIREMENTS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Students are matched with coaches based on demand and the coach's availability. Coaching is provided between the hours of 8AM - 9PM EST Monday-Thursday. Each coach may have multiple student groups to coach.
• To help students with their language skills, critical language coaches meet in a virtual classroom with a small group of students for two 45-minute sessions per week to facilitate practice exercises and provide real-time feedback to students.
• Coaches must have their own computers, a headset or microphone and access to reliable high-speed internet.
• Since this is a remote position and students need consistent practice, coaches are expected to host all of their assigned coaching sessions unless there is an unforeseen event or severe illness.
• This position requires a score of at least Advanced Low on the ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) examination. Applicants must include their certificate from ACTFL with their application in order to be considered for this position or, submit another comparable agency score. IMPORTANT:

• This position is an online (remote) position.
• This is a contract-based position.
• A current teaching license is not required for this position, but a teaching license can be an asset.

• The North Carolina State Board of Education (NC SBOE) requires teachers who teach/coach for North Carolina Virtual Public School (NC Virtual) to have a current Professional Educator’s NC Teaching License in the subject areas in which they are applying to teach/coach.
