Our client is looking for an experienced, dedicated, and analytical National Sales Director to join our team to take on a wide range of responsibilities, from the daily activities of the sales team to managing the relationship with large retail clients.

The National Sales Director responsibilities include cover two product lines (Professional products that cater to beauty salon and barbershop owners and beauty schools and Retail products that are sold over the counter (OTC) and in big box retailers like Walmart, Walgreens, and other national chains) possessing an in-depth awareness of the specialty market of Hair and Skin Care Products that targets the African American segment with an acute awareness of our competitive products. They must also be excellent communicators with excellent customer service skills who can quickly navigate any situation to reach desired sales objectives.

Ultimately, you will work with leaders across our sales team to ensure our organization properly analyzes current market trends for our two product lines to accurately forecast sales and continually improve the various sales channels to grow our market share in the business.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the Sales Department which includes a team of sales and merchandising professionals (full-time and part-time), product distributors, third party broker networks, and maintain sales operations which includes sales service, market analysis, and sales administration
  • Outline, develop, and manage to sales budgets
  • Set quarterly and annual sales goals and develop forecasts using market analytics
  • Motivate the sales teams to achieve their goals
  • Monitor and analyze the market and competitor products and activities for product trends
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reports that details performance against budget, sales goals, and competitive markets for Professional and Retail products
  • Prepare and execute the annual schedule and plan for trade show participation for display of, education on, and sale of our client's products at select nationally recognized trade shows, beauty shows, and conventions that cater to the targeted demographic of existing and potential of our client's products.
  • Develop and manage a fully functioning marketing strategy using a blend of in-house marketing analysts and third-party service providers
  • Based on market analysis and trends, assist in the development of enhanced and new products
  • Review customer activity, anticipate consumer needs and improve customer satisfaction

Requirements and skills
  • Proven work experience as a National Sales Director or similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of selling strategies and methods, as well as employee motivation techniques
  • Strong working knowledge of the company’s products, competitive products, and the market
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Great strategic planning, organizational and creative thinking skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s preferred
