Frontier Regional School is seeking a director for its Spring musical production of Chicago.

Music Director is responsible for making copies of the script, posting script and blocking notes, running acting warm-ups, teaching the script, hold acting practices, order props and costumes, organize and train stage crew, select stage crew manager, train tech team for lighting, run the lighting tech crew.

Together with the Choral Director and Choreographer, the Director is also to

-Hold monthly production meetings

-Create and send out rehearsal schedules

-Be responsible for frequent communication

-Establish a form of fundraising and expectations

-Make bi-weekly deposits into the musical account

-Create the program

-Promote the musical to local media

-Organize parent volunteers as necessary

Auditions to be held in December. Parts assigned end of audition week. Read-through of the show the following week with the cast. Fine tuning of rehearsal schedule throughout Holiday Recess. Rehearsals 2.5-3 hours everyday after school until tech week in March.

Provide supervision during set build (February Break). During tech week, rehearsals run from after school until at least 8:00 pm. The musical to be performed in March.

Frontier Regional School is located in the town of South Deerfield in Western Massachusetts. The school serves approximately 600 students in grades 7 -12 and is the public high school for the towns of Conway, Deerfield, Sunderland and Whately.

Students are enrolled in a wide range of academic programs, including AP courses which are offered in all of the core content areas, a college preparation program of studies, and a number of specialized programs and support services. In addition, students have the opportunity to participate in numerous extra-curricular activities, including athletics, visual and performing arts, technology, and approximately twenty clubs.
