This position is for a New Jersey unit of Mettler-Toledo named Troemner. We are located about 15 miles from Philadelphia in Thorofare, NJ. Mettler-Toledo acquired Troemner in 2016. Since 1840, Troemner has long legacy of excellence to offer our employees and customers. Our weights are manufactured in a state-of-the-art facility using the finest materials and equipment available. We provide unmatched measurements and metrological analysis. In addition to weights and calibration services, we also manufacture a full line of laboratory equipment including shakers, hotplates, and vortex mixers.
Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

In this role you will review calibration data to ensure quality measurements by evaluating compliance to national and international standards, analyzing control charts and statistical data, maintaining standards and essential lab equipment, creating uncertainty budgets, developing, validating, and verifying process methods, training lab personnel, participating in internal and external audits, and offering technical assistance to customers.
- Identifies magnitude of error sources contributing to uncertainty of results to determine reliability of measurement process in quantitative terms.
- Redesigns or adjusts measurement capability to minimize errors.
- Develops calibration methods and techniques based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems, and accuracy and precision requirements.
- Uses a broad base of metrology, engineering, statistics and computer software to maintain standards and balances according to national and international standards.
- Trains, administers proficiency testing and assists calibrators and other departmental employees to perform calibrations and maintain accompanying documentation.
- Tests calibration standards and equipment, and analyzes trends as needed for compliance with government standards.
- Interfaces with sales personnel and customers to provide technical information when necessary.
- Supporting a team of 4 direct reports.
What You Need to Succeed
MUST BE LOCATED NEAR THOROFARE, NJ, TO WORK ONSITE.
Bachelors Degree in science, math, physics, or STEM, or five years of related working experience.- Minimum 1 year of calibration experience.
- Previous experience as a mass metrologist with pressure and/or temperature calibration experience a plus.
