    Position Overview:
    The Merchandise Assistant works closely with Merchandising and other internal and external partners. They are responsible for providing first-level support as it relates to product introductions and item/sku maintenance and inquiries. The Merchandise Assistant will work hands on with the merchandise, will support the daily operational functions within the buying department, and will assist the buying team in managing the overall merchandise flow.
    Essential Functions
    • Taking in samples and organizing all new merchandise.
    • Maintaining all vendor relationships via email and phone.
    • Taking pictures of new merchandise, labeling and entering into the system.
    • Creating new purchase orders and any maintenance on existing purchase orders.
    • Other tasks as assigned.
    • Route received Samples to appropriate Category Team
    • Maintain Sample Room as directed
    • Other tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Strong ability to prioritize work and multi-task successfully
    • Critical thinking skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Superior verbal and written communication skills
    • Skilled in Microsoft excel, word and outlook
    • Strong vision and passion for the merchandise.
    • Retail experience desired
    Physical Requirements
    • Able to lift and carry up to 20lbs in physical environment, push pull, reach, grasp, bend and stack cartons
    Internal Candidates
    • One year of field experience as a Boutique Team Leader or Assistant Team Leader preferred
    • Relocation to Houston – not company sponsored
    • Must receive written recommendation from current supervisor before submitting resume
