We are a seeking hard-working, patient, empathetic , and dedicated candidate to join our team as a Mental Health Technician (MHT)! The MHT is an integral part of team who assists in coordinating the day to day needs of the facility and clients by monitoring and maintaining head counts, 1:1s, client schedules and activities, and clients whereabouts and behaviors.

Job Duties:*

• Assist in supervision of client activities and is aware of client whereabouts at all times for patient safety and required headcounts and/or 1:1s
• Engage clients in therapeutic activities, as appropriate.
• Maintains order and ensures compliance with rules and regulations; ensures that clients conduct themselves in accordance with the programs rules
• Monitor and document clients for signs of medical distress and/or behavioral conduct on an ongoing basis.
• Provide appropriate support and structure for clients in dealing with their recovery, interacts continually with clients.
• When assigned to drive Company vehicles, MHT’s are responsible for safe operation and maintenance of vehicles.
• Conducts search of all client bags when being admitted to the facility. Confiscates and secures any contraband found, and notifies the appropriate Program Director or supervisor on duty in their absence.

Qualifications and Requirements*:

• AA/AS degree preferred and/or meets experience requirements
• One year of experience in Behavioral Health field. Mental Health Experience preferred.
• Valid Driver License and clear driving history required
• KIPU EMR experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.

• Knowledge of mental health issues and/or addictions or willingness to learn.
• Knowledge and competency in problem solving, stress management, ethics and team building.
