  • This position can be Full-Time or Part-Time and will be 3rd shift. There is a shift differential pay for working nights.

Our Company: Community Mental Health Center, Inc. is a provider of comprehensive mental health services, offering inpatient, outpatient, home-based, school, and community-based programs to individuals and families in Dearborn, Franklin, Ohio, Ripley and Switzerland counties in Southeastern Indiana. Position Responsibilities: The Program Assistant will assist in recovery based services, under the direction of the Charge Nurse/Team leader to clients admitted to the Inpatient Unit in accordance with the philosophy and procedures of the milieu therapy program.

Qualifications: A High school diploma or equivalent is required. Demonstrated customer service skills and good communication style needed. Some experience in a health care setting is preferred.

Day-to-Day Expectations:

  • Participates in the Inpatient Recovery Based Treatment program as directed by the Team Leader/Charge Nurse.
  • Facilitates and assists in recovery based activities with clients on IPU.
  • Spends quality time with clients each shift assisting client to achieve recovery based goals.e.g. daily ADL care, work sheets, journal assignments, activity to increase socialization in the IPU.
  • Monitors clients placed in the quiet room, including completing appropriate documentation.
  • Performs various functions when assigned to desk at nurse’s station; e.g., answers phone, responds to visitors, answers clients’ questions, etc.
  • Interacts with families by telephone and face-to-face as needed and documenting those interactions as appropriate.
  • Answers calls on the crisis line and documents appropriately.
