Busy OB/GYN office seeking a full time Medical Scribe to work with a physician in our Forest Hills and Cedarhurst Office's. As a Medical Scribe, you will be responsible for accompanying the Physician into the patient examination room in order to transcribe a history and physical exam, and document accurately the physician’s encounter with the patient and others present. This is an in-person scribe position.
Responsibilities:

Accurately document patient-provider encounters in an electronic medical record (EMR), including any past medical history, current medical issues, physical exams, treatment plans, disposition instructions, rechecks, etc.
Provide advanced support to providers, including documenting phone calls, alerting the physician with labs/radiology reports are complete, grabbing faxes, etc.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Background in medical terminology, shadowing, volunteer experience a plus, but not required as you will be trained on medical terminology.
Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.
Document any procedures performed by the physician.
Qualifications:

Basic computer and word-processing skills
Recognition of the physical exam process and ability to record exam details.
Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications.
Legible handwriting and ability to accurately record information.
Organizational skills with a focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow.
Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families.
Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
Must be able to type 50 wpm.
