Medical Assistant Job at Mancelona Family Practice
We are looking for a professional, highly organized Medical Assistant to join our team. You will perform a variety of both administrative and clinical duties, and be a support to both providers and patients during office visits. This is a fast paced job that requires excellent customer service skills. Our ideal candidate will be compassionate, detail oriented, very organized, and able to multitask and prioritize.
COVID vaccine is required for employment.
Medical Assistant Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greeting patients and collecting medical histories and vital signs, and documenting in the electronic medical record
- Prepping exam rooms and assisting providers with medical procedures
- Preparing and administering medications, injections, and vaccinations under the direction of the provider
- Obtaining and preparing fluid samples to send for lab analysis
- Communicating with providers regarding patient care
- Explaining medical procedures to patients
- Sterilizing surgical instruments and keeping work and patient areas clean
- Educating patients and their families on health conditions, treatment, and medications
- Protecting confidential patient health information
Medical Assistant Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant or CNA experience
- Medical terminology
- EMR experience/computer proficiency
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
