Position Summary
The Design Engineer position is located at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Plant in Oak Harbor, Ohio.
Responsibilities:
Preparing modification and maintaining design calculations up to date- Assisting in the development of solutions to engineering technical issues in support of plant operation and maintenance
- Supporting problem identification and resolution using the Corrective Action Program
- Ensuring changes to the design requirements are identified, documented, controlled, evaluated, and approved
- Managing and completing assigned activities to support timely implementation for required plant operations
- Preparing technical reports and presentation
- Maintaining the plant design and licensing basis complying with industry standards and regulations
- Performing assigned duties as a member of the Emergency Response Organization
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution required; Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering preferred- FE certification or PE license is a plus
- Previous field/Industry experience is desired
- Familiarity with Nuclear Power Plant design, licensing basis documents and processes used to maintain them is preferred
- ASME/ANSI/AISC Code, pipe stress, seismic, structures, coatings, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and/or HVAC knowledge
- Prior professional-level engineering experience is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and analytical ability
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills, with the ability to make formal technical presentation
- Ability to deliver quality and accurate work within established deadlines
