Position Purpose
Produce and edit television segments for Blank Park Zoo’s Internal and External video programs and other projects. Assist staff with troubleshooting computer problems and help staff with A/V needs. Help with other marketing tasks. Assists in other duties as assigned by the CMO.
Essential Functions

- Write, produce, edit and shoot videos.
- Assist in the marketing activities of the zoo including social media.
- Assist in the technical production of the Zoo’s events. I.E. set up and operate audio equipment.
- Assist in special events (staff videographer/photographer)
- Assist in designing signs and newsletters.
- Assist in updating website.
- Help maintain the Zoo’s IT and A/V infrastructure.
- Assist staff with computer needs/troubleshooting.
- Maintain database of digital assets.

Work Environment
Office
While performing the duties of the job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit and work at a desk for extended periods of time, stand, walk, and utilize manual dexterity to use computer mouse and keyboard and other office equipment.

Requirements
Required education and experience
- Four-year college degree, or equal time of paid experience.
- Two years of paid experience in video production.
- Intermediate word processing skills and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint).
- Knowledge, understanding and ability to implement marketing concepts and theories
- Knowledge, understanding and ability to implement to write and produce videos for television, social media and websites
- Knowledge, understanding and the ability to troubleshoot computers.
- Knowledge, understanding and the ability to create successful social media campaigns (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, etc)
- Video editing systems such as Adobe Premiere Pro
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator)
- Understanding of Website, html and the ability to update as necessary.
- Must also understand or be able to acquire the knowledge of the telecommunications and video systems utilized by the Zoo.
Additional eligibility requirements
- Must be insurable to drive a zoo vehicle.
- Must be able to maintain work hours that will serve the needs of the Blank Park Zoo
- Must be able to maintain calm and act professionally in all situations such as emergencies and guest interactions.
Licenses/Certifications
- Valid Iowa motor vehicle license
- First Aid/CPR Training
