Manufacturing Quality Technician Job at Standard Iron & Wire Works, Inc.
Standard Iron is seeking a Quality Technician that reports to the Site Quality Manager. This position is to support the quality goals and values of Standard Iron by performing activities related to the verification of quality requirements of supplied, in-process and final products.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Inspection of incoming, in-process and final parts or product per established inspection plan; inspection based on part criticality, quality (NC) history, new product, or product after design/drawing changes.
- Provide elements of PPAP requirements to customers for new and revised product.
- Inspection and containment of suspect non-conforming product.
- Verification of corrective action effectiveness on parts or product produced after CA implementation.
- Perform audits of in-process and final part or product inspection to ensure compliance to documented procedures and customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate calibration of all measuring instruments and any tools that require such calibration.
- Develop and implement Quality departmental ISO procedures. Provide necessary implementation and support.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate’s degree in quality or an engineering discipline preferred
- 2 – 3 years of experience in a manufacturing-based business
- Knowledge of quality methods, tools, instruments
- Ability to read prints with a full understanding of geometric tolerances
- Ability to use and understand hand inspection instruments and programing of a portable CMM
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interface with a wide variety of departments throughout the organization
- Basic understanding of welding methods and inspection
- Strong statistical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Background with the ISO 9000 system requirements
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel)
