We are looking for a talented individual to join our Engineering team. This employee will develop, utilize, and improve manufacturing process, evaluate shop floor machines and tools, understand Lean manufacturing concepts, and apply them to shop floor process, provide support to production personnel in developing and documenting process that provide the highest part quality at the least cost, and drive efficiency improvements on the production floor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibility: General process documentation work
Tasks: Develop and utilize best practices on the shop floor. Maintain an efficient system of generating process information (OIS documents) and deliver it to internal customers.
Result: Increased production efficiency using documented, standardized processes.

Responsibility: Evaluate and update routings and rates.
Tasks: Determine processes that need rate adjustments and follow through with communication of the change.
Result: Ensures accurate job information in Syteline.

Responsibility: Team member on various Lean improvement projects.
Tasks: Actively involved in Lean events, internal audits, action items, and various engineering projects.
Result: Continual improvement production processes.

Other Responsibilities

  • Provides engineering expertise to aid in the development of annual and long-term business plans. Designs, justifies, develops, and implements the engineering portions of the plans.
  • Develops concepts on capital projects. Prepares IAR's; coordinates the investigation, selection, installation, prove-out and training to successfully integrate projects into the unit.
  • Reviews new parts in the concept stage. Makes recommendations to standardize features, promote cost-effective zero-defect manufacturing, and improve functionality that support DFMA.
  • Analyze and provide solutions for problems which adversely affect quality, productivity, safety, flexibility, and cost.

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in various manufacturing disciplines.
  • Must have the ability to flex into other shifts as needed.

Preferred:

  • Strong experience in metal fabrication processes and technologies.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong employee/customer relations skills.
  • Strong technical skill or education.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Exemplary coaching ability.

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports solid line to Director of Engineering and dotted line to the Plant Manager

Job Dimensions

  • Negligible travel required (< 5%).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $56,711.17 per year
