Job Description

The Manager of EVS/Stewarding is responsible for assisting the Director of EVS/Stewarding in managing the day to day operations of the Environmental Services and Stewarding department; she/he plans, manages, and controls all department operations and resources. Demonstrates and provides outstanding customer and employee relations at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises leads and directs EVS/Stewarding Floor Managers, EVS Supervisors, Steward Shift Managers, Kitchen workers, Public area Cleaners and Heavy Duty Cleaners ensuring the cleanliness of facility is in compliance with all company and department standards
  • Assists in implementation of preventative maintenance and property wide cleanliness programs
  • Conducts Pre-shifts and trainings to communicate any new information, policies and procedures
  • Supervise subordinate EVS/Stewarding professionals, performing activities such as hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, and administers disciplinary actions
  • Monitor and maintain employee time cards and attendance
  • Monitors and maintains current inventory levels; processes purchasing orders as required; tracks orders and investigates discrepancies
  • Ensures employees are trained to work safely and efficiently within current regulatory guidelines
  • Evaluate shift schedules and adjusts, if necessary, to accommodate Resorts World operational and departmental needs
  • Conducts daily inspections and provides Director with daily inspection report
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit essential reports
  • Acts in lead capacity during the director’s absence
  • Works independently
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills required
  • Demonstrates a thorough working knowledge of all chemicals and equipment used by the department.
  • Ability to understand and comprehend chemical SDS paperwork.
  • Must have excellent planning, organizational, verbal communication and delegation skills
  • Ability to watch and observe team members in the performance of their duties.
  • Ability to work long hours including weekends and holidays frequently.
  • Must have the ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
  • Be adaptable, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response
  • Must possess the ability to operate all tools and equipment utilized by the department
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel

Education and/or Experience

  • Must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school or equivalent diploma and have the ability to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to the New York State Lottery regulations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field AND two (2) years’ experience in a Management position
    • OR Four (4) years’ experience in a Management position
    • OR Two (2) years’ experience in a Floor Manager position within Resorts World
  • Five (5) years’ related Management experience in a Housekeeping/ Maintenance setting required

Work Environment

  • This position requires frequent exposure to loud noise, bright lights, and exposure to hot and cold weather conditions. The position also requires frequent standing, walking, and sitting. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
