Job Summary:

As the Manager of Procurement, you will oversee the Purchasing Department and serve as liaison to the business for procurement, sourcing and co-manufacturing solutions enabling business and innovation growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include identification, selection and onboarding of external partners, assessment of capacity and costs, management of business project deliverables, and negotiation of contracts to proactively secure capacity and supply at best cost, quality, and service.
  • You will work closely with cross-functional teams across Supply Chain, Product Development, Quality and the broader CF organization coordinating priorities and executing on operational excellence, growth, and innovation.
  • Develop current and new vendor relationships to meet capability, capacity, service, quality, and best cost needs for the business.
  • Negotiate agreements with vendors to deliver optimal cost, improve margins, and align on business strategy.
  • Own the Purchasing Process for all specified products from Innovation to Purchase Order Issuance, Confirmation, delivery OTIF at the right location, while managing the optimal inventories at all 3PL's. Make recommendations on the purchasing model (full turnkey, directed buy, or non-turnkey).
  • Partner with Product Development scoping capabilities and best value solutions for commercialization.
  • Manage the sourcing strategy of materials and co-man services for new product launches.
  • Oversee monthly actual-to-budget cost variances, identify root cause and drive cost improvement.
  • Manage Vendor Scorecards and help prepare Business Review meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversee the overall activities of a Team of three Buyers

Professional Qualifications:

  • At Minimum a bachelor's degree in Business or similar discipline(s) in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing Management is required, complemented with additional certifications in APICS CPIIM/CSM programs will be preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Procurement and Sourcing role working in the CPG industry or manufacturing &/or contract manufacturing operations.
  • Analytical skills and fluency with data and exemplary problem-solving skills will be required.
  • Experience using MRP/ERP systems including Inventory Management and Control.
  • Strong preference for food and beverage, or nutritional products background.
  • Ability to work in a high growth, fast-paced, often-changing environment.
  • Demonstrated effective negotiation and influencing skills that deliver results, and strategic negotiations with responsibility managing a COGs budget above $100MM.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects via prioritization and planning.
  • Must have demonstrated experience with evaluating and improving manufacturing performance and effectively managing contract manufacturer relationships to drive innovation, quality, and costs in support of company objectives.
  • Ability to think strategically, and apply problem solving ability to tactical issues.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to win support and influence others to act, make changes, and improve processes.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required to suppliers and contract manufacturing locations.
