The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years’ experience providing legal counsel and support for studio, branded and sponsorship digital content initiatives. Location: New York City, NY.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support and counsel the staff of digital properties across the studio, brand partnerships, integrated marketing, and sponsorship initiatives.

• Draft, structure and negotiate studio, branded and sponsorship content initiatives, including production services agreements, talent agreements, work for hire, and master services agreements.

• Undertake pre-publication review and standards and practices for digital and social content and branded content.

• Create, manage and support template agreements designed to streamline the legal review/drafting process for all types of standard digital content related transactions.

• Create, policies, processes and procedures for the digital team based on the latest legal trends and developments with a goal to avoid risk and promote business initiatives.

• Assist with formal and informal trainings for on all legal matters impacting the digital business activities of the companies.

• Complies with Network and Urban One’s mandatory trainings and adheres to related course deadlines.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school, admittance to New York Bar, or In House Counsel registration, with 1-3 years related experience in a digital media company.

BACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the role well.

• One to three years of direct business and legal affairs experience supporting digital media studio activities including contracts, production, and talent.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, which will enable the candidate foster relationships with people at various levels.

• Must be able to build strong internal client relationships, effectively advise senior-level executives under conditions of uncertainty, high pressure and/or high-risk and generate strong client satisfaction through strategic thinking and firm decision-making

• Robust Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and DocuSign skills.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize numerous assignments with a service-oriented attitude coupled with a team approach,

• Have a strong desire to function integrally as part of an interdisciplinary team with an uncompromising focus on both minimizing legal risk while driving business growth and delivering a high level of customer service

• Positive demeanor, with a willingness to tackle matters outside of areas of expertise
