Maintenance Technician responsibilities are to maintain the grounds, facility and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current federal, state and local rules and regulations, to ensure that a successful maintenance program is maintained at all times

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for the maintenance of any buildings on the grounds of Heritage Ministries such as power, water and electrical systems.
  • Responsible for the general appearance of buildings and grounds. May have to work outside around plants such as poison ivy, sumac and oak.
  • May be responsible to respond to emergencies and must take appropriate action in the case of maintenance emergencies.
  • Repairs and maintains equipment when needed. Assists with regular preventative maintenance on all equipment.
  • Monitors buildings for resident, employee and visitor safety. Must notify supervisor of any potential problem.
  • Understands the function of the facility systems – Fire Alarm, Sprinkler, Nurse Call, Building Control System, etc.
  • Runs errands, handles incoming and outgoing freight; lifts and moves heavy equipment and furniture; other miscellaneous duties as directed by the Director of Environmental Services or Supervisor.
  • Aid in moving larger items for incoming, transferring, and departing residents.
  • Will work together or independently with assigned maintenance tasks and preventative maintenance items.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED/TASC required.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge and skills in carpentry, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing tasks.
