Title: Maintenance Technician

Reports to: Maintenance Manager or Production Manager

Classification: Non-Exempt

Location: Levelland, TX

Summary: *

The Maintenance Technician performs the preventive and reactive maintenance duties required for the manufacturing operations of the plant. Priorities include execution of PM schedules, repair of any equipment that is needed to maintain maximum production rates. This position generally requires the flexibility to work 40+ hours per week, weekends as required and also fulfill on-call duties for repairs.

Primary Job Responsibilities: *

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe working record and environment

  • Ensure that all equipment is kept in a proper and safe working condition

*
Immediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts or injuries to PIM.

  • Direct and ensure that all scheduled Preventive Maintenance duties are completed

*
Practice proper forklift operation

  • Communicate with all plant personnel

*
Maintain facility housekeeping

  • Communicate with PLP support services

*
Maintain and build job skills through company training programs

  • Assist with PLP support service team projects

*
Troubleshoot and repair equipment that is not operating properly

  • Understand and practice PLP CORE VALUES

Job Skills: *

This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:

*
Advanced industrial mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic and pneumatic skills including troubleshooting

  • Understand purpose and proper use of small hand and power tools

*
Understanding of PLP manufacturing process including troubleshooting

  • Strong time management and task prioritization skills

*
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and communicate to other plant personnel

  • Self-motivation

*
Basic computer skills

  • Ability to troubleshoot simple and complex system.

*
Educational Requirements: *

*
High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Continuing Education certifications, preferred

*
Preferred Experience: *

*
3-5 years experience as line operator or similar training and experience

  • Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing industry
  • Plastic pipe extrusion and / or cnc machine.

*
Physical Requirements: *

*
Ability to lift 75 pounds

  • Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in a non-climate controlled environment

*
Position requires full range of body motion including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
