From your PASSION to ours

This position offers a variety of maintenance duties that requires knowledge of, or ability to learn production and packaging equipment and assist when needed on major utility systems. Will maintain manufacturing equipment through preventative maintenance; to include engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and other machines. Must be able to follow diagram sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Maintains machines with respect to bearings, assembly, disassembly, power transmission, rigging, and lubrication.
  • Effectively completes bench work utilizing common hand tools.
  • Work effectively on electrical systems and components.
  • Learn to do basic pipefitting of water, steam, and air lines with steel, plastic, and copper pipe materials.
  • Trains and learns all shop equipment and machinery.
  • Plans and prepares for job layouts and ordering of materials necessary to complete job.
  • Knowledge in troubleshooting and diagnosing HVAC units.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing machine failures; observe mechanical devices while in operation, listening for problems.
Requirements:

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

Skills / Abilities

  • Successful candidate will obtain a trade school or two year degree in electrical and/or mechanical training.
  • Minimum of two to three years of maintenance experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in refrigeration and/or welding is required.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy; following up on repairs to ensure equipment performs efficiently.
  • Must be willing to be fresh water/waste water certified.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal.
  • Work schedule is Monday through Friday with varied start times between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m., working until production is done.
  • Position requires participation in the on-call rotation schedule for after hours and weekend maintenance emergencies. Usually once every three weeks.
