We are seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Conneaut, Ohio Plant.

Position Summary:
Maintain production capabilities of the press line, compounding and related support departments in relation to equipment used in the departments.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Cover the press line for all hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems.
  • Work on and make permanent improvements to all building, production and maintenance systems.
  • Complete appropriate documentation and log books.
  • Support and assist all work centers.
  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance on all building, production and maintenance equipment.
  • Assist in setting molds and dies when necessary.
  • Keep machinery, equipment and plant structure in operating condition.
  • Maintain and install piping, fittings, valves, gauges, traps and all types of controls for high and low pressure hydraulic systems and steam and air lines.
  • If assigned second or third shift, complete die changes and project work.
  • Preventative maintenance, lubrication of various machinery.
  • Responsible for any other duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Assist in shut down and start-up of the plant according to procedures.
  • Cover for vacations and illness on the shift and be able to work overtime on short notice.
  • Has responsibility for continuous improvement, corrective actions and quality of products.

Qualifications and Requirements:


  • Must be able to read electrical, hydraulic and wiring print. Must be able to prioritize work load with other work centers.
  • Must possess a valid tow motor license.
  • May be required to work overtime with little or no notice.
  • May be required to rotate shifts when needed.
  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills. High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
  • Strong organizational skills. Ability to handle a wide variety and diversity of tasks.
  • Able to read blueprints and possess a working knowledge of molding processes and secondary equipment in the operation of compression and injection presses.
  • Adaptable to new ideas and responsibility.
  • Manual dexterity required in bending, lifting, and control of arms, wrist and hands in various positions.
  • High school graduate or equivalent vocational educational training.
  • Minimum of two to five years of trade school in hydraulic, mechanical maintenance or equivalent on-the-job training. SPCC (Spill Prevention Containment Countermeasures) - oil.
