Summary:
The Maintenance Lead directs and coordinates activities of vendors and Maintenance Mechanics engaged in repair, maintenance, installation of machines, tools, and equipment. In addition, the Maintenance Lead also assists with the maintenance of the buildings, grounds and utility systems of the plant. The Maintenance Lead will report up to the Shift Maintenance Supervisor and assist in the strategic needs of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

· Manages maintenance work requests from production floor by determining priority and assigning work orders to technicians

· Verifies completion of assigned work orders by technicians

· Enforces departmental use of Lock Out Tag Out as defined by the company policy

· Ensures team members comply with all safety and good manufacturing practices

· Communicates to Production and Quality Assurance departments equipment breakdowns and estimated times for repair completion

· Works with management, vendors and engineering and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance issues and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment

· Audits work of team members to ensure that standards are being met

· Conducts daily meeting at the end of each shift to update incoming maintenance personnel on status of breakdowns, repairs and troubleshooting completed during previous shift

· Maintains shop cleanliness, including the office and outside staging area

· Communicates daily shift pass down report to via designated email distribution

· Ability to dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts

· Examines form and texture of parts regularly to remove defective parts

· Lubricates and cleans parts, equipment, and machinery

· Tests and adjusts equipment to meet performance specifications

· Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, saws, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts

· Communicates to Supervisor parts needs

· Repairs electrical equipment

· Represents the Maintenance department as needed for cross functional meetings

· Operates Boilers and Chemical Treatment

Additional Responsibilities:

· Participates and trains with the HazMat team

· Performs other duties and requested or assigned

· Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions

· Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings

Job Requirements

Experience:

· One year of food manufacturing experience preferred

· Three to four years of maintenance manufacturing experience required.

· Previous leadership experience preferred.

· Prior work with CMMS system

Education:

· One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Qualifications:

· Class 2B Boiler License

· Ability to read and intepret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

· Experience with calculating figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, areas, circumference and volume.

· Strong ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry

· Ability to operate a variety of hand tools including the following: welding machines, cutting torches, pipe/tube cutters, power drills/saws, pullers, wrenches, screw drivers, sockets, ratchets, hammers, measuring devices, etc.

· Experience with interpreting a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form

Physical Demands:

· Regularly required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

· This position requires regular lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds, frequently lifting and/or move 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds

· Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception

· Must be able to work hours as assigned, which may include 13 hour shifts and weekend work
