Machine Shop Supervisor Job Summary:

A family-owned ISO 9000 certified company with 200+ employees, doing business around the world for 42 years, with over 15,000 customers in various industries, ranging from nuclear, to aerospace, to oil & gas, and more, is looking for a Machine Shop Supervisor.

Machine Shop supervisor will supervise a state of the art CNC Machine Shop overseeing 30+ employees, in a clean, well-organized, air-conditioned facility, with Milling, Turning, Grinding and EDM equipment, and precision manual machines.

The Machine Shop Supervisor will implement policies and programs to assist company in maintaining optimal manufacturing efficiency, and profitability. Needs to have a hands-on approach to accomplish effective utilization of equipment, facilities and personnel to obtain maximum efficiency and meet performance objectives.

Qualifications for Machine Shop Supervisor:

· Strong technical competencies in manufacturing, precision machining and operation of CNC machines.

· Strong knowledge of tool holders and machining inserts

· Ability to create detailed routes for various components and parts to be machined

· Demonstrated effective leadership.

· Knowledge of commonly used computer programs like MS word, Excel, and ERP systems.

· Able to enforce and comply with company policies and safety regulations

· Understand and meet company objectives in cost, quality, and safety.

Education and/or Experience of Machine Shop Supevisor:

· 2-year associate's degree in general machining skills and/or tool & die. Or 4-year manufacturing degree with machining concentration

· 10 years of machine shop experience

· At least 3 years of machine shop supervisory or managerial experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job

Pay Commensurate with Education and Experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Machine Shop Supervisor:

Directs and monitors daily operations of machine shop staff and activities, including assembly, material movement, maintenance, tooling, production, and scheduling

· Provides firm and consistent leadership to promote good labor relations, grievance processing and overall shop communications.

· Confers with and represents the machine shop in meetings within the company.

· Develops new methods and processes to ensure continuous improvement and value-added processes are maintained in production.

· Participates in the evaluation, selection, and acquisition of manufacturing equipment and tools.
