CNC Machinist
Job Summary:
Setup, program, and trouble shoot CNC machines.
Job Knowledge Requirements:
- Able to write and edit machine programs (i.e., G-code, WinCNC, etc.)
- Validate machine programs
- Able to develop fixturing and part holding for machined parts
- Proficient in safe operation of machines
- Trouble shooting of machines and machine programs
- Machine tooling
- Perform machine setups
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Use of metrology to perform part inspections (i.e., vernier calipers, micrometers, etc.)
Responsibilities:
- Develop machine programs
- Develop setups for machines, including fixturing/work piece holding and tooling
- Perform machine setups
- Assist machine operators with trouble shooting of machines as needed
- Edit machine programs
- Validate machine programs
- Machine parts to engineering specifications and standards
- Meet engineering standards
- Maintain clean machines and report problems to supervisor and/or maintenance
- Log times and complete operations in LN
- Follow job instructions
Qualifications/Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Machining certification or 3 years of CNC machining experience
- Proficient in reading and writing G-code
