Key Accountabilities

  • Sets up and various manufacturing equipment to perform machining operations, such as turning, boring, facing and threading parts.
  • Loads workpiece manually and checks overall length with tape measure.
  • Depresses buttons, toggles, or sets tape and starts machining operation.
  • Observes numerical displays on control panel and compares with data on process sheet to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and speeds of machining cuts.
  • Performs various quality checks, inspects pieces for conformance to specifications using thread gauges.
  • Maintains an accurate inventory through activities such as: proper reporting of material usage, minimizing wastes, and ensuring that measuring devices are properly calibrated.
  • Job rotation between all shop machines, gun assembly and saw.
  • Performs preventative maintenance as required.
  • Ensures good housekeeping of all work areas.
  • Practice safe work habits in accordance with OSHA and GEO-specific Health and Safety expectations.
  • Follows all plant policies and practices to ensure safety, quality, service, and cost objectives are met.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills/Knowledge

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency
  • 2 - 3 year of experience in manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs
