Job purpose

The Machine Operator is responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials within the Mold Shop. The Material Handler uses a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in the Molding Department.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Loads, unloads and moves materials within the Mold Shop in a timely manner
  • Set up molds in injection molding machines
  • Maintain material levels in the supply area in accordance with manufacturing requirements
  • Perform material changes in a timely manner
  • Prompt attention to filling of machines with new material so it will be dried in time for the next job
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in the Mold area in accordance with DWE procedures/guidelines
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment by complying with all DWE procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Follows work schedule and assignments as directed by supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED is desired
  • Must be able to follow work instructions, diagrams, and part drawings to complete assigned tasks
  • Excellent vision, coordination & dexterity to handle and manipulate small materials & parts
  • Punctual with a high attendance rate
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and positive work attitude
  • Ability to perform repetitive work with long hours
  • A team player who works well with others in a multi-cultural environment
  • Previous work experience in manufacturing assembly or machine operations is desired

Working conditions

All work is performed in the injection mold shop/manufacturing floor

Physical requirements

Requires standing, repeated reaching and twisting, and hand movement throughout the entire shift. Requires lifting and moving materials up to 50 pounds. Requires mental and physical stamina and strength. The use of personal protection equipment (PPE) is often necessary.

Pay: $17.00 - $17.50 per hour
