Work Locations: Reports to Pittsburgh, PA. Travel area encompasses central and western Pennsylvania.

Work schedule: Part-time, normally weekdays/daytime hours, with evening/weekend/overnight as needed. Typical customer meeting obligations up to 10 hours each month, plus another 16 hours quarterly.

The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy's Long Term Care division seeks a Relationship Specialist who will be responsible for developing and nurturing relationships with nursing home accounts, ensuring quality services, and implementing tactics for retention and the organic growth of Institutional and Specialty Pharmacy business and services for an assigned geographic area. Our Relationship Specialist's typical duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ongoing maintenance and problem resolution for existing LTC accounts.
  • Measure service level metrics, celebrate successes, and identify issues.
  • Facilitate regular meetings between pharmacy and nursing home staff.
  • Collect service, satisfaction, and performance feedback from customers for presentation to pharmacy as well as leadership.
  • Provide weekly reports to leadership on account status.
  • Coordinate regular meetings between pharmacy and nursing home leadership (Director of Nursing, Medical Director, etc.) to evaluate current services and identify opportunities for value-added service.
  • Troubleshoot service problems between the nursing home and pharmacy.
  • Support pharmacy staff during onboarding of nursing home facilities into new LTC service arrangements, helping ensure timely deliverables and resolving implementation issues that arise.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to pharmacy staff to enhance and/or resolve service level commitments.

In addition to being thorough, attentive to detail, a relationship builder, a problem solver, and customer oriented the successful candidate for this position must also have the following qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical and durable medical sales and products.
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy operations, especially in an institutional or long-term care setting.
  • Ability to travel to customer facilities as job requires.
  • No previous violations or suspension of licenses due to fraud, theft or noncompliance with State and Federal Regulations
  • Valid driver license in the state of primary operation.
  • Must be able to provide proof of being up to date with COVID-19 vaccination following a contingent offer of employment and prior to the start of work.
  • Pharmacy technician certification or LPN/RN license issued by a state or national credentialing body, or equivalent combination of education and work experience is preferred.
  • Prior work experience in long-term care nursing or related fields is preferred.
