Amberwell Hiawatha is seeking LPN's to join our team. We currently have a Full Time positions available.

The LPN assists the providers by providing practical nursing care to patients ranging in age from neonates, children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics and pregnant mothers within the Family Practice Clinic.

SHIFT DAYS/HOURS:
Schedule will be determined by business need and provider availability. The Family Practice Clinic is open from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. This position gets one day off during the week.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduate of accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the State of Kansas

Experience:
Preferred experience working in a fast paced clinic setting with electronic health records system. Clinic Nurse must be proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Certificates, License, Registrations:
Currently licensed in Kansas as a Practical Nurse

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate with persons of various backgrounds in a tactful and courteous manner. Must have comprehensive and timely knowledge of nursing theory and practice and be able to incorporate such knowledge in all conditions varying from the usual to the extraordinary and emergency. He/she must be able to work with team of nurses and providers to ensure patient safety and patient care.

Physical:
LPN will sit, stand and walk intermittently throughout day. May have to assist in moving and supporting patients and may be subject to strain. Applicants must have adequate hearing and field of vision in order to complete duties.

DUTIES:
1. Under the direction of the providers, the LPN provides comprehensive, individualized care to patients based on their identified needs.
2. Assists the provider with patient exams, procedures and minor office surgery.
3. Performs phlebotomy and limited diagnostic laboratory tests as ordered by the providers. Correctly obtains, prepares and labels specimens as directed in the lab manual.
4.Provides patient education as needed.
5.Documents patients charts appropriately and accurately using Electronic Health Records system, Athena.
6.Carries out providers orders within Athena. Ensures all orders, patient cases, and encounters are closed by end of shift daily.
7.Ensures exam rooms are adequately stocked and all outdated items are removed timely.
8.Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements of a Rural Health Clinic.
