Summary of Responsibilities
The Life Enrichment Assistant supports the overall Activities Program for Assisted Living at The Gardens at Luther Park Community. Responsibilities include one on one engagement with residents, conducting group activities, assisting residents with meals and other supportive activities as defined in resident care plans.
This is a part-time position from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
Essential Duties
- Serve plated food at noon meal and pass snacks throughout the day.
- Organize and conduct at least two group activities per shift.
- Visit and interact with residents one-on-one and conduct small group activities during any unoccupied time.
- Invite and encourage residents to attend activities. Knock on doors so they don't forget to attend.
- Record resident attendance at group activities.
- Engage with families and update them on how their loved one id doing and provide feedback to management and staff on residents' behaviors and activities.
- Big source of feedback for nursing department by watching what is changing with residents.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Two years of experience with seniors and/or individuals with dementia
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment physical, drug screen and TB test
- Self-directed and ability to work independently
- Positive attitude towards residents and their reality
- Team work and respect given to all co workers
- Support of Luther Park Community’s mission, vision and core values
