Our correctional center is currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. The Licensed Practical Nurse will be primarily be responsible for administering medication and attending to the medical needs of inmates. This LPN position will be included in the Medication Assistance Treatment Program. There will also be opportunities to work with inmates on a one-on-one basis as well as participate in community outreach programs. The successful candidate will support the goals of our correctional center, which is to bring safety and security to both inmates and staff by maintaining positive relationships with the public.

Responsibilities:

• Patient data entry into the "MAT" Spreadsheet and calendar
• Administering all "MAT" Related medications/injections: (Sublocade, Vivitrol)
• Document all "MAT" related information, in particular medication administration on the Mars, Nextgen and any related log booklet.
• Assist in the care of patients with injuries, surgical wounds, and illness who are usually hospitalized or recuperating at home.
• Address the health concerns of patients in a primary care setting.
• Address the health concerns of patients in a urgent care setting who are experiencing short-term illnesses.
• Analyze and evaluate patient records.
• Advance patient care through implementation of the interdisciplinary plan.
• Agree to participate in all required training and education programs for RNs, LPNs, CNA, and ARDs.

Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a license or a limited permit issued by the State of New York to practice as a practical nurse.

Necessary Special Requirements: Candidate must possess or, for those with limited permits obtain, within one year, a current registration issued by the State of New York to practice as practical nurse, and must maintain a valid registration throughout employment in this title.

Depending upon assignment, candidate may be required at the time of appointment and during employment in this title, to possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State.

Employees continue to earn vacation days in accordance with the schedule, reaching a maximum of 30 days per year. Unused vacation time rolls over each year until a maximum of 420 hours is reached.

· Sick Time: Earned at the rate of 1/2 day per pay period totaling 13 days annually. Unused sick time is rolled over each year, with no maximum rollover.

· Personal Leave: An employee is granted 4 days of personnel leave each year. Employees receive 7.5 hours on their 1st day and will accrue one additional day every quarter. After employee first anniversary 28 hours of personal days will be frontloaded at the beginning of each year worked. Unused personal time is rolled over into sick each year with no maximum rollover.

· Salary: Step increase every 12 months on July 1st completed year of service in addition to contractual raises through 2024.

· Membership in the New York State Retirement Pension System 5 year vested. In order to retire with Health benefits you need to work a total of 10 continuous years with the county and be 55.
