We are currently accepting applications for an Lead Teachers (for all age groups) at our newly renovated 1 star rated quality preschool and childcare center near Broadway and Slavic Village area of Cleveland, Ohio.

The Lead Teacher should be able to follow a set curriculum, and most importantly like working with assigned age groups of children. In this position, you will also be required to supervise assistant teaching staff, track and report on children's progress, and ensure that classes remain safe and conducive to learning.

Lead Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintain all SUTQ related documentation and paperwork
  • Instruct children in activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth
  • Develop schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest and playtime
  • Ability to interact with assigned age group, patience, interacting capabilities, attention to details and organizing group activities
  • Provide basic care and following daily schedule for each child
  • Plan and manage classroom activities and develop age-appropriate socialization skills in children
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interest and learning styles of infants and toddlers such as stories, music, singing and play time to intellectually stimulate children
  • Provide a nurturing and safe environment for infants / toddlers to develop and reach age appropriate milestones.
  • Training, supervising, and mentoring assistant teacher to ensure that they perform well
  • Ensure play, sleep and changing areas are sanitized and kept clean
  • Develop schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime
  • Serving meals and snacks
  • Communicates with parents daily and maintain positive relationships with family to ensure that children needs are met
  • Maintain the health and safety of all children
  • Greeting parents and addressing children by their name

Education:

  • Must be 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED(Required)

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a CDA (minimum) AA or BA (required to be a lead teacher)
  • OCCRRA Career Pathways Level 3 is necessary for lead teacher
  • Prior child care experience working in a licensed ODJFS child care program
  • Current physical, and ability to pass BCI/FBI background check
  • Extended periods of time sitting on the floor
  • Is dependable and adaptable and enjoys working together toward a common goal

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, instruct and bend for a long period of time
