If so, apply as a Lead Teacher (Toddler) at our Jane's House childcare development center.

Your Role: The Lead Teacher plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises developmental classrooms for children, including children with disabilities and their peers without disabilities. They may also supervise and evaluate teacher’s assistants and volunteers in the performance of their duties in the classroom.

Needed Attributes: The ability to be highly flexible and adaptable. Also, capable of responding quickly to the changing needs of children, families and Easterseals Washington and the ability to professionally interact and communicate with all parties.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school graduate or GED
• Short Certificate in Early Childhood Education (20 credits), OR proof of current enrollment in an ECE program, OR an education waiver from the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF)
• 2 years teaching experience in ECE (preferred)
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and submit proof of vaccination(s) ·
• Must pass Washington State Department of Early Learning (DEL) background check (and federal background check if applicable) and maintain background check compliance
• Proof of U.S. citizenship or right to work

Jane’s House provides a multi-cultural educational approach and an inclusive environment where children with and without disabilities learn and play side-by-side each and every day. We utilize Individual Education Plans for children that may benefit from them and operate our centers to NAEYC standards. Many of our teachers have attended or are currently enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program at YVC.
