The McEwen Mining Gold Bar Mine is located 35 miles northwest of Eureka, Nevada. The property has seen historic mining from 1988 to 1994 by Atlas Precious Metals Inc. McEwen Mining Inc. acquired the property and began active exploration in 2011. The current mine consists of an Open Pit Mining Operation delivering Ore to a Crushed Heap Leach with solution being processed through an ADR Plant and Refinery.

Job Description

Leach Pad Operator will monitor water and slurry flows and acid addition, making calculations and adjustments as needed to maintain flows at proper operating levels, Maintain a clean work environment free of hazards and submit work requests assisting with maintenance personnel as needed, Operate machinery, tools, and equipment as required in a safe manner to maintain undisrupted operations, Inspect and check all systems and equipment daily to ensure effective operation, Maintain accurate records as well as daily production and maintenance schedules and submit to Supervisor for their reports, Handle reagents as required and ensure that clean-up is conducted correctly, Conduct solution balancing and sampling, Retrieve and record samples for pick up by Laboratory Technician

Roles and Responsibilities

Qualifications

• 1-year working in a mining operation or similar environment preferred
• Valid Driver s License

Physical Demands

• Climbing ladders/stairs, long periods of standing, walking over uneven ground
• Moderate to heavy repetitive lifting to 50 lbs.
• Repetitive motion - bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing for long periods of time
• PPE required, respirator must be worn to perform specific tasks
• Exposure to noise, dust and prolonged exposure to weather conditions
• Prolonged exposure to weather conditions (hot, cold, windy, dusty)
