The Minneapolis Public Housing Authority (MPHA) is looking for a law clerk to work part-time hours during the school year with the possibility of full-time hours during the summer of 2023. Tentative start date would be early to mid-February, 2023.
Duties will include legal research as well as writing and litigation support in the following areas: landlord/tenant law, reasonable accommodations and disability law, housing and development work, municipal law, employment law, and constitutional law.
Through both its Public Housing and Section 8 programs, MPHA provides over 26,000 Minneapolis residents with decent, safe, and affordable housing. MPHA’s Legal Department consists of General Counsel, Assistant General Counsel, Staff Attorney, and Paralegal. This is an excellent opportunity for hands-on legal experience in a wide variety of practice areas.
The job is located at MPHA’s administrative office at 1001 Washington Avenue North, Minneapolis, MN 55401 with the option to complete some work remotely.
Required Experience:
Candidates must be detail-oriented, highly motivated, and able to multitask in a fast-paced work environment. Candidates must also possess strong research and writing skills.
