ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Models a service attitude towards others, takes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better, is friendly and courteous to residents, patients and co-workers
Ensure resident/patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards
Maintain good attendance record
Handles all aspects of the laundering of soiled linen and personal laundry for the residents of the facility
Washing and drying of linen and laundry
Folding linen and laundry
Picking up soiled linen and laundry on floors or as scheduled
Deliver fresh linen and laundry to floors
Restock laundry carts on floors
Prepare linen and laundry carts
Verify inventory of laundry carts on floors at beginning of each shift (i.e., all carts fully stocked with clean linens)
Maintain clean work area
Maintain laundry equipment: Commercial laundry change/clean filter every 2 hours for lower and twice a week for upper, Personal Care Laundry change/clean filters as needed, both laundries wipe machines, reports any problems to supervisor
Notify supervisor of low inventories (soap, fabric softener)
Work housekeeping as needed
Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of Commercial/Healthcare laundry experience preferred
Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English
Ability to follow instructions and work as a team player
Good communication skills
Bilingual is a plus
Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and prioritize tasks and know when to ask supervisor for assistance
Willingness to climb ladders and perform other duties that require heights
Ability to adapt to changes in procedures, as improvements are made
Knowledge of commercial laundry and equipment helpful
Ability to perform Essential Duties
Genuine caring for and interest in the care of mature adults, persons with handicap and hospice patients
Ability to perform work tasks within the Physical Demand Requirements
Ability to comply with the Resident Bill of Rights and Employee Responsibilities
Ability to comply with organizational and departmental safety policies and procedures
