Lathe Machinist Job at Global Machine Works
$1000 SIGNING BONUS - Conditions apply
All shifts, Days, nights and weekends. Proficient with Mazak and Mori Seiki turning Centers a plus. Minimum 2 years’ experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Utilize various types of numerically controlled, and computerized machine shop equipment to perform machining operations on all types of materials including but not limited to ferrous and nonferrous metals, nonmetallic materials, their alloys, and synthetic materials
- Work from and in accordance with specifications and design criteria including but not limited to verbal instructions, drawings, and blueprints; performs standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, speeds, and feeds of machining
- Use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments; maintains accurate dimensional tolerances based upon drawings
- Select the appropriate cutting tools
- Set up and operate a variety of machines to perform multiple machining operations and ensure the proper utilization of equipment and material
- Improvise production aides as necessary to facilitate operations
- Possess and maintain thorough knowledge of industry, machinery, techniques and thorough knowledge of all applicable safety regulations and considerations
- Ensure part count and data entry is accurate and correct consistently for both the Job Traveler and MES computer system
- Maintain a clean work area including; sweeping, mopping, and wiping down machine.
- Machine maintenance as instructed by management
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $37.00 per hour
