Landscape Construction & Maintenance Crew Leader

Job Type: Full-time
Hours of Operation: Monday- Friday
Compensation: $22.00 to $26.00/ hr.
Overtime is required on as needed basis

Landscape Construction & Maintenance Crew Leader:

The Construction and Maintenance Department Crew lead works under the Field
Supervisor. They serve as the liaison on the field and work alongside 1-3 construction laborers. They are responsible to delegate work on a single jobsite and implement industry standard installation techniques and workmanship. This is an active field position that will require hands-on fieldwork. They are key to the daily operations on the field and construction sites.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Delegate and perform work onsite with team members
• Train and mentor onsite team
• Communicate staff performance issues to supervisor
• Communicate with client and customers on site and report back to supervisor
• Plan and prepare with supervisor daily supplies needed for the jobsite
• Manage tool inventory on the field and in trucks
• Estimate and communicate supply needs on job site, prepare supply list and order supplies as requested by supervisor
• Pick up or accept supplies needed on jobsites
• Communicate jobsite projections, workflow, and status of completion to supervisor
• Implement onsite quality control and safety
• Completing daily machinery inspections

Skill Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the landscape construction and maintenance industry
• Excellent communication skills required
• Good Technology skills required (Must be able to email, text, call)
• Ability to read a basic landscape plan required
• Knowledge of common plant names and identification
• Knowledge in running medium to large equipment (Ditch Witch, Bobcat or ride on Machinery)

• Experience driving truck and trailer
• Experience herbicide application is a plus

• Ability to speak, read and write English (ability to speak Spanish is a plus)
• Must pass a drug test
• Must pass company Insurance MVR check run
• Industry certifications is a plus
