About the role
The Vets is looking to hire an accountant to manage daily bookkeeping needs and find creative solutions to improve accounting methodology. You will work closely with the VP of Finance and the rest of the accounting team to drive accurate financial statements. The ideal candidate for this role is a self-starter with a deep desire to learn from and improve existing systems. This is a great opportunity to get involved in a rapidly growing startup.
What you'll own and how you'll make a difference
- Manage AP through as well as communication w vendors via email
- Processing invoices for payment
- Ensuring bills are paid in a timely manner
- Maintaining relationships with vendors
- Processing transactions in QBO and Reconciling accounts
- Manage Employee expense platform (Concur)
- Deposit reconciliation between system and deposits city managers made
What we're looking for
- 2 years of bookkeeping or AP experience
- Experience in QBO
- Proficient in Excel
- Ability/willingness to learn new tools
- Self-starter who embraces rolling up your sleeves with your team
- A sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company's success
- Proficient time-management and organization skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Plus: Ability to read and interpret financial statements
- Ideal candidate will be in the New York region with ability to travel and meet in person on site.
This is a contracted position with potential of upto 25 hours per week.
Pay will be $25 per hour
