Journeyman Scaffold Builder - Industrial Job at MasTec Industrial
Overview:
Promote and comply with all company and safety policies and procedures Read and understand project drawings. Construct (from lumber or forming system) concrete foundations and install to correct locations and elevations. Build forms to hold, and set anchor bolts and other embeds into formwork.
Responsibilities:
- Install rebar reinforcement for concrete foundations
- Spread concrete to specified depth and workable consistency, using float to bring water to surface and produce soft topping Level, smooth and shape surfaces of freshly poured concrete using straightedge and float or power screed
- Remove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces using power grinder or chisel and hammer and patch holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound
- Produce rough concrete surface using broom
- Mix concrete using hoe or concrete-mixing machine
- May direct sub-grade work, mixing of concrete and setting of forms
- Maintain a professional appearance
- Other duties as assigned by Foreman and Superintendent
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek's Zero Injury principles
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Add and subtract two digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10's and 100's and ability to perform these operations using units weight measurement and volume
- Common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
- Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures and standards
Wanzek construction offers an extensive and competitive benefit package that includes, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401 (k), and paid time off. Salary depends upon experience: $24-$28 per hour.
