Rincon Research Corporation is seeking an IT Specialist II who, as an ideal candidate, will have an active TS security clearance as well as experience supporting end-users on multiple platforms. Experience or familiarity working with and troubleshooting Linux, specifically RedHat or CentOS, and Windows is required.

The role is primarily responsible for the installation, troubleshooting and documentation of hardware and software as related to end-user desktop support. Technicians assist teammates and end-users in resolving and/or troubleshooting IT problems in person, over the phone or via e-mail. For complex issues, this role identifies the appropriate group to provide specific resolution support and escalates cases as necessary. This position will also be responsible for maintaining computer lab areas, conference rooms, and equipment and asset inventory. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Acting as the initial point of contact to provide technical support identifying, investigating, and resolving end-user technical issues
• Collaborating with other employees to research and resolve problems
• Performing system and office deployments to include computers and peripheral devices
• Providing and install standard approved hardware and software
• Supporting, managing, and maintaining the configuration and installation of end user workstations
• Assisingt in creating and updating training materials pertaining to computer troubleshooting and usage
• Conducting new user onboarding including account creation, office configuration, and user orientation
• Maintaining computer and equipment inventory
• Up to 10% Travel as required

• 
  DOD 8570 Compliance within first 90 days
• Ability to get and maintain a TS Security Clearance
• US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED

• 
  2+ years of hands on experience working with Linux and Windows workstation or server environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with end-users at all levels
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Working knowledge of PC hardware and software installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair
• Familiarity with Microsoft and Linux operating systems
• User management within Microsoft Active Directory
• Linux command line navigation
• Computer networking fundamentals
• Certification (Security+, Microsoft, Red Hat)
• Active TS/SCI security Clearance
