The Healthcare and Life Sciences Team at Brown Gibbons Lang & Company (BGL) is seeking an Investment Banking Vice President to join our team in the Chicago office. Investment Banking Vice Presidents at BGL have a strategic position within the firm and will oversee the preparation of financial analyses, conduct due diligence, develop offering presentation materials, and participate in the structuring and execution of a wide variety of transactions. Investment Banking Vice Presidents assume an integral role in transaction execution, leading and managing interaction across clients, buyers/investors, and third parties. From time to time, VPs may participate in outbound marketing efforts, identifying and engaging with prospective clients if desired.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
BGL Investment Banking Vice Presidents enjoy a high level of involvement at every stage of the transaction and frequently interact with senior-level bankers and client management teams. They are active contributors to the strategy and execution of every phase of the transaction process and are integral to each transaction team. Additionally, Vice Presidents work closely with senior bankers to assist with their new business efforts.
Investment Banking Vice Presidents act as the primary execution lead on pitch and transaction-related projects, driving the process forward and quarterbacking all necessary workstreams. Vice Presidents are expected to have mastered all aspects of transaction execution, including new business presentations, financial modeling and analysis, transaction marketing documents, and preparation of other written materials.
Vice Presidents are required to have the ability to work on three to four transactions at any given time. As they become more experienced, Investment Banking Vice Presidents will be expected to manage transactions along with senior bankers and help coordinate the activities of team members, clients, buyers/investors, attorneys, and accountants.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supporting senior bankers in transaction execution and client management
- Performing and verifying various financial analyses
- Identifying potential investors, buyers, acquisition targets, or merger partners
- Organizing and driving the transaction process
- Participating in new business development
- Cultivating analyst and associate development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Five or more years of previous experience in Healthcare Investment Banking
- Outstanding academic record
- Strong accounting and financial modeling knowledge and experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ambitious team player with a commitment to excellence
- BGL requires that all successful applicants be fully vaccinated (you must be (i) 2 weeks following receipt of the final dose in a multiple-dose vaccine series or (ii) 2 weeks following receipt of a single-dose vaccine) against COVID-19 as a condition of employment and provide proof of such vaccination prior to commencement of employment.
