Investment Associate Job at HORAN

Position Reports To: Portfolio Manager & Principal
Position Summary:
The Investment Associate is a key member of the HORAN Capital Advisors team who supports the portfolio managers with research and analysis, trading activity, the production of client materials and other operational needs. The position requires strong computer skills, attention to detail, knowledge of the financial markets, excellent written & verbal communication skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide support to portfolio managers through research, analysis and presentation support on investment recommendations
- Research will include individual stocks, mutual funds, fixed income and alternative investments
- Execute trades on behalf of clients
- Conduct on-going client account database and process maintenance including portfolio accounting and performance analysis
- Prepare and compile client review materials with investment commentary
- Preparation of sales material and execution of client correspondence
- Communicate and interact with clients over time
- Assist with other operational projects and tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) from accredited University, preferably in a business-related concentration
- Pursuit of CFA designation or current CFA designation required

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with clients, product partners and with the overall HORAN organization
- Possess strong sense of accountability with a diligent work ethic. Must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to take the initiative to get the job done and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
- Strong attention to detail; the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Excellent writing, organization, and communication skills
- Strong computer knowledge (Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint) with the ability to adapt to new computer software packages (Thomson Reuters, Tamarac, Morningstar)
- Applicants should have high quantitative proficiency and demonstrate an in depth understanding of the investment universe
