Fiduciary Trust International is hiring an Investment Accounting Manager -Alternative Investments (private equity) to join the Accounting & Reporting team. The position may be based out of any of our U.S. locations (e.g. NY tri-state area, MA, PA, FL, MD, CA, and more).
The Accounting Manager will oversee the team responsible for the accounting and reporting of alternative investments across the firm. This includes our client’s investments in hedge funds, private equity funds, private real estate and direct deals.
Responsibilities of the team include:
  • Data aggregation and document harvesting associated with investments in alternatives, compiling notices and statements, manager reported performance, investor K-1s and audited financial statements
  • Record all transactions and valuations associated with alternative investments as well as reconciling to statements issued by the fund managers
  • Maintain alternative investment security master which includes relevant fund information such as liquidity terms, fees and fund manager contact details
  • Oversee the private trade ticket process which tracks investment activity in alternatives
  • Assist with onboarding clients with legacy alternative investments
  • Prepare internal management reporting on alternative investments
  • Prepare ad-hoc reporting for both internal and external clients
  • Work closely with the Client Service team and Portfolio Managers relating to client investments in alternatives
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee all accounting and reporting relating to alternative investments assuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of data
  • Lead a team of accountants responsible for the accounting and reporting of alternatives
  • Monitor and analyze the accounting data used to produce internal and external reporting
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
Ideal Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with preferred majors including accounting or finance
  • 5-10 years' experience in financial service industry
  • Must have experience with accounting for private equity funds and other alternative investments
  • Demonstrated ability of managing a team
  • Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Self starter; motivated
Compensation Range: Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $110,000.00 - $140,000.00.
